A Checklist for Women of Every Age
Simply put, the goal of a well-woman visit is to keep you well.It is a regular appointment with a healthcare provider that focuses on preventive care for women of all ages—starting from the time a woman is sexually active and continuing until the age of Medicare eligibility.
Annual Gynecologic Exams at Align Family Health
An annual gynecologic (GYN) exam at Align Family Health is a routine checkup to ensure you’re healthy inside and out. It’s one of the most empowering steps you can take for your well-being, helping to detect and prevent health issues, and building a strong foundation of health and wellness for all stages of your life.
Wellness Exams for Young Women
At Align Family Health, we recommend that young women who are not sexually active have their first women’s wellness exam between the ages of 13-15, with annual visits thereafter. Your initial visit typically does not include a pelvic exam; instead, your doctor will focus on getting to know your medical history, including menstrual history and body mass index (BMI). It is crucial to discuss with your doctor which screening tests are right for you.
